An area known for its hispanic community thats so rich in culture, love and hospitality. it also has a strong sense of local pride driven by small businesses, community organizations, and multi generational families which was on full display during this. After Midnight is a B&W 16mm short film inspired by classic gothic horror and early vampire cinema.
Following a late night news broadcast detailing a series of unexplained disappearances and increasingly strange reports from inside people's homes, one man dismisses the warnings as another sensational story. When he finally hears a loud knock he starts to look around his house for where its coming from, the line between broadcast and reality begins to disappear. Shot entirely on B&W 16mm, After Midnight is an exercise in atmosphere, drawing from the tension and visual language of classic horror rather than spectacle. Inspired by early horror classics.
